The film that established Terry Gilliam as more than just Monty Python’s resident animator, this delightfully inventive children’s fantasy is about young Kevin (Craig Warnock) who finds himself travelling through holes in the space-time continuum in the company of half a dozen fractious dwarfs. Along the way, he encounters Agamemnon (Sean Connery), Robin Hood (John Cleese), Napoleon (Ian Holm) and winds up as a passenger on the Titanic, although not necessarily in that order. But is this just random entertainment laid on for history fan Kevin’s benefit, or part of a wider struggle between the forces of good (Ralph Richardson) and evil (David Warner)? At the time, this was a rare example of a small-budget British film successfully taking on American blockbusters. Now, it's a much-loved fantasy classic bursting with inspired images and ideas: Gilliam and co-writer Michael Palin (who also appears) are clearly enjoying themselves as much as their audience. Special Features: Brand new 2k-resolution restoration of the film from the original camera negative, approved by director and co-writer Terry Gilliam Original uncompressed PCM Stereo 2.0 and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio options Optional English SDH subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing Chasing Time Bandits: A new interview with Terry Gilliam Writing the Film that Dares Not Speak its Name: A new interview in which Michael Palin discusses co-writing and acting in Time Bandits The Effects of Time Bandits: A new interview in which Kent Houston, founder of the Peerless Camera Company, discusses Time Bandits’ optical effects Playing Evil: A new featurette in which actor David Warner remembers producer George Harrison and playing Evil in Time Bandits The Costumes of Time Bandits: A new interview with costume designer James Acheson The Look of Time Bandits: A new interview with production designer Milly Burns From Script to Screen – A new animated featurette in which Milly Burns takes us through her production notebooks, locations photographs and storyboards revealing how twentieth century Morocco was transformed into Ancient Greece Original Trailer Restoration Demonstration Collector’s booklet featuring new writing on the film by critic James Oliver Awards and Reviews: 5 stars - Empire “pleasingly dark with Gilliam delivering as much classical fairy tale as knockabout comedy.” - Empire 5 stars – Total Film “Frequent bursts of twisted humour, several flashes of horror and a ton of first-class Brit cameos” - Total Film “Gilliam is one of the great conjurers of cinema, and this film is proof of his ample and unpredictable talent.” - Radio Times “An extraordinarily inventive fantasy” - Time Out Cast and Crew: Director: Terry Gilliam Actors: John Cleese, Sean Connery, Shelley Duvall

Richard Attenborough’s renowned, star-studded historical biopic follows the early years of one of Britain’s most beloved and controversial figures – Winston Churchill. Writer-producer Carl Foreman (High Noon, The Bridge on the River Kwai) was approached by Churchill himself, who suggested his own book, My Early Life: A Roving Commission, would make a good film. The result is a lavish and beautifully detailed drama, with Simon Ward in the lead role, detailing Churchill’s service as a cavalry officer in India and the Sudan, as a war correspondent in the Second Boer War, and his election to Parliament at the age of 26. Forman and Attenborough assembled a sterling cast in support: Robert Shaw, Anne Bancroft, Jack Hawkins, Ian Holm, Anthony Hopkins, Patrick Magee, Edward Woodward, and John Mills add weight to Attenborough’s vision of the man and the myth. James Richardson (born 3 November 1809 in Boston, Lincolnshire; died 4 March 1851 in Ngurutua near Kukawa, Bornu). Richardson made an expedition in 1845 from Tunis and Tripoli in Libya to Ghadames and Ghat in the middle of the Sahara. Here he collected information about the Tuareg and arrived after nine months back again in Tripoli. After he had published 'Travels into the great desert of Sahara' (2 Books. London 1849), he succeeded to convince the British government to equip an expedition into Sudan and to lake Chad. In March 1850 Richardson went for the second time to Ghat accompanied by Heinrich Barth and Adolf Overweg. His party were the first Europeans to cross the stony elevated plain of the Hammada. James Richardson died of unknown illness on this journey on 4 March 1851 in Ngurutua, a six-day journey away from Kukawa near Lake Chad. His travel notes and diaries were published by Bayle Saint John as Narrative of a Mission to Central Africa (1853) and Travels in Morocco (1859).
